I think that uniform put some bad luck on the Zoom Masters, maganda start nila nun with Lester Neal as their import but lagged below the top fourth at eventually naging replacement import pa si Bobby Parks nung quarterfinals when they lost to San Miguel. The trade mentioned happened during the offseason before the 2000 season. Thanks for the heads up! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb23.gif) Yup tama ka. According to Perry Ronquillo, the trade was made by Shell since Pablo wants a higher pay but Shell can't give it. So instead of losing Pablo via free agency, they made a sign and trade to dealt him to Talk N Text. Actually Shell got a good player in Mark Telan that time but the loss of Pablo was hard to compensate especially Paras is in and out of the line up. Wala na silang go to guy at that point. -------------------- ![]() |

The Telan deal made sense too, Pablo was peak was starting to bubble at that time although the loss of Castillo was felt hard by Shell in the 2000 campaign.
And also thanks for the heads up on Bobby Parks, tama that was in the elimination round at hindi nung quarterfinals. I believe he had a quiet 22 points or so in their loss to San Miguel. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumb23.gif) Was Castillo traded to Purefoods or he left Shell via free agency? I'm quite confused since sabi daw he was traded to Purefoods for a draft pick yet I can't remember what year ginamit ng Shell yung pick na yun. As for Parks, yup he manage to score 22 points but it was overshadowed by the game brilliance of Danny Ildefonso and Danny Seigle that time; plus the fact na talo pa ang Shell. -------------------- ![]() |

Ibinigay ng shell sa purefoods si castillo ng halos walang kapalit gawa ng magbabawas sa salary cap ang shell nung panahon na yun... |

It was Shell also who eliminate Purefoods sa commissioners cup semifinals, it was a frustrating season for the hotdogs when codinera was traded to andy seigle, for the second straight conferences di sila pumasok sa semifinals.

That Pablo deal, doon nagsimula maging half man na si Paras.Shell at Kool Ka Lang. That trade made Paras suffer injuries since that trade.

1999, the 25th season of the PBA can also be considered a transition year, other than the Fil-am craze.
so many era has ended, Big J leaving Ginebra, Codinera-Patrimonio partnership broken, RFM's franchise player Vergel Meneses being traded. Allan Caidic was also deprived of winning two championships with San Miguel, nilipat siya sa Ginebra with a task of being an assistant playing coach and soon to be coach. maganda sana team up with Caidic and Rookie Danny Seigle which would proved to be a lethal combination, never mind kung pinakawalan ng San Miguel si Nelson Asaytono. It would have been a fitting career for the triggerman winning a title before retiring from active play. |
