My choices:

I chose Abe King over Philip Cezar by a nose even if I were a Crispa fan back then. The Chairman of the Board, is, in my humble opinion, the greatest defensive player the PBA has ever had. Upon stepping into the PBA court in 1977, the former Red Lion established himself as one of the most feared defensive players covering three decades. From Kresimir Cosic of the Yugoslavian national team and Larry Pounds of Royal Tru Orange in the late '70s to Alvin Patrimonio of Purefoods in the early '90's, King was bruited to be by the latter as the most difficult person to go up against when defended. Cezar, although highly qualified for the power forward position, encountered some difficulty with taller imports simply because he was overmatched in terms of heft. King provided a better match as he was bulkier and used his muscles more in boxing out or putting his opponent out of his comfort zone.

Chito Loyzaga on the other hand, is revered by no less than Benjie Paras as perhaps the most difficult defender that has ever guarded him. More than just his heft, his guile and overall court intelligence augured well for him as he was able to collar the bigger, better players of his time. Best proof is to ask the 7'9 man mountain of North Korea Ru who Loyzaga battled wits with in the 1990 Asian Games.

Although Robert Jaworski is strictly speaking a point guard, his flexibility and versatility allowed him to move from one guard position to another. It would be difficult to position Jaworski in the point guard position defensively as he was normally ranged against the off guards of the opposing team (e.g. Adornado, Co, Paguntalan, Ravanes, etc.) while allowing his backcourt partner Francis Arnaiz to guard the other team's point guard.

Ramon Fernandez is the scorn of all the best power forwards produced in the '70's and '80's. Name all the quality #4's in the PBA during that time (Ampalayo, Saldaña, Lazaro, King, Cezar, Vargas, etc) and you can say that Fernandez almost always had the upperhand in their battles.

And of course, who can forget not including the Flying A himself. He is one of the top leaders in the steals department and is scourged by point guards for the past ten years simply because of his innate ability to make his opponent change his game. I have no doubt that Abarrientos deserves to be included in this A-list (pun intended).
